Kelley's Island

Just outside of Sandusky Bay is Kelley's Island. Very quaint little island with restricted vehicular traffic.  There are at least 2 ferry services here and both have a fleet of golf carts for rent.  With all the golf carts on road, it would be a very busy place.  Pedestrians are required to use the sidewalk under threat of fine.  We will get the bikes out tomorrow and go for a ride around the island.

We are tied up at Seaway Marina, just east of the downtown area.  Very sheltered from the east and north, which is the way the wind is blowing today.  Last night, it was blowing 20-25 from the west. We would have been windswept.

The motor over was a little rolly. It was blowing 10-15kts. all morning but was predicted to diminish in the afternoon.  So we went for a walk back downtown to kill some time and wait for the winds to drop. It was possible to sail after leaving the channel to Sandusky Bay but it was only a couple miles so we just motored.

Here is the original Kelley mansion.

I made a WiFi antenae to extend the range of reception.  I used the same parts that make up the Wirie, old model.  We were able to pick up the wifi at the Sandusky Sailing Club and now have really good reception here at Seaway Marina.
